QA Intern
Lightbulb Crew is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Intern to join his publishing branch Firesquid in a dynamic and passionate team specialised in Strategy games. The team working at Firesquid has the opportunity to work on both sides of the industry: as developers and as publishers. This said, we put our partners in the first place and aim to co-market, co-fund, and publish innovative strategy game projects with creative resourceful teams behind them. Our goal is to always stay fair towards our partners and honest towards our players, creating a strong sense of community in a global diverse setting.
As a Q/A Intern you will work closely with the publishing production team and sometimes external partners. You will be mentored by our main QA tester working on a broad diversity of strategy game projects. You will have a careful eye for details and explore every parts of the games in order to spot bugs or make sure that everything is working as intended. You will create tickets reporting bugs to the development team, make sure that fixes are correctly applied and make reports to the leads regarding the projects states. In this internship, you will work as a team with another QA tester that will help you develop your tester skills.
This internship will help you become a better QA tester inside a publishing team, understand the pipeline of game production, assess the state of builds before their public release, collaborate with a range of talented people and develop the professional skills essential to work in the video game industry.
Contract: 6 month Internship, starting end of January 2025.
Location: remote - candidates must live in France and have a "convention de stage" from a French school
Wage: Minimum 4.35€ per hour- negotiable depending on the profile

About you
We are looking for someone who will:

Communicate efficiently and professionally with our partners.
The ideal person for the job:
Has good logical/analytical thinking.
Is methodical and autonomous.
Has experience with playing games and an eye for spotting bugs on their own play sessions.
Has great communication skills, including in English, as we are an international team (B2 level or higher).
Is fond of Strategy games of all kinds and plays a lot of them.
Bonus points for experience with:
QA, software development or game development (either in a company or as personal project).
Any bug tracking or project management tools (Jira, Trello, Mantis, Notion, etc.).
Specific test environments (TRCs, XRs, Lotchecks…).
Personal experience with finding a bug exploit in various games.
